An Unexpected Treat... Meet Aphrodite!

Well, the releases haven't exactly been on schedule, because I found this today.

Here's what Rick has to say:

Our next art reveal for The Mark of Athena: the Roman goddess of love herself, Venus, otherwise known as Aphrodite.

It's hard to capture Venus in a picture, because her appearance is constantly changing, morphing into what each viewer would see as the ultimate expression of beauty. That's why this picture captures her in transition as both a blonde and a brunette.

What is Venus up to in The Mark of Athena? She may try to help her daughter Piper and the rest of the demigods, but when Venus helps, it isn't always, well, helpful.

I'll release the last two pieces of character art this weekend as a Labor Day treat, so stay tuned!

I can't get the info from the Disney Hyperion site, because I don't think this one has technically been released, but if I find anything, I'll update.

Meet... the Wine Dude!

Today's character release is... Bacchus! Mr. D's Roman "personality."

Anyone else think he looks like Jack Black?

Our next Mark of Athena character art reveal is our old friend Mr. D . . . or wait, is it Mr. B? Meet Bacchus, the Roman form of Dionysus. He will have a role to play in the new book, and I don't just mean playing PacMan. But would you trust your life to this god?


Bacchus

Also known as Dionysus in Greek form, Bacchus is the ultimate party god.  Righteous. 
 
What does HE do? Aside from drinking way too much diet soda?   It depends on his motivation, which is often lacking.  Have you seen the potbelly on this guy?
 
Noteworthy: He might be a party monster, but don’t count Bacchus out.  He might come in handy for the demigods down the line…

Another Russian Cover... and More!

So I finally go The Demigod Diaries. Yesterday. I already finished it. IT WAS AWESOME. No further comments.

Anyway, I have a question: I found out who the rest of the characters are in the MoA releases. And I have two of the pictures. It's not extremely spoiler-y for the plot of the book, but the pics are still pretty cool.

Do you want me to post the two pictures and the names of the rest of the characters?

I'm not so sure that this is legit, but apparently, the next two titles in the Heroes of Olympus series have been leaked.

Book four: The Battle of Time

Book five: The Doors of Death

Now, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense, because aren't they supposed to close the doors in The Mark of Athena? Or maybe Rick's saving that for the climactic final battle.

I guess we'll find out!

Oh, and I found this picture of Riptide. If it's from The Demigod Diaries, I have no way of knowing, because I still haven't read it.

Nemesis!

The official art for the goddess Nemesis has been released today!!

She's a pretty mean looking character.

Nemesis

Also known as the goddess of revenge.   This is one lady you do NOT want to run into in a dark alley (or anywhere else, for that matter).
 
What does SHE do?  This woman can shape-shift into any imposing figure you can imagine, if you’re her target.  Which you don’t want to be.  Ever.
 
Noteworthy: Imposing as she is, Nemesis can be bargained with, as demigod Leo will learn…but at what cost?

There she is, folks.

The next release is August 30, so I'll update then.

Still nothing more on the movie, but it is coming out next March, so this might be a little while. I'm keeping an eye out for the official movie poster.

First of the MoA Character Releases!

Coach Hedge!!

Here's what it says on Rick's blog about him:

Every time I see the picture, I laugh, because it's exactly how I pictured him. You will see the coach again in The Mark of Athena. He's along for the ride on the Argo II, ready to use that baseball bat on monsters, or demigods, or pretty much anything that moves.

And from the Disney Hyperion site:

The local satyr on call, imagine your middle school track coach...if your track coach was half goat.

What does he do? When not eating tacos whole (wrapper and all), or jumping head-first into a fight, this guy is the trusty backup when the demigods get into a scrap.

Noteworthy: He might be on the short side (5 foot zero), but Coach Hedge is a vital sidekick when things get rough. His handy baseball bat is always by his side, and he's not afraid to use it.

The next release is available August 23!

I preordered from Amazon so I won't get it until they see fit to send it to me. So no spoilers!! =D

Ok, seriously, don't click the link if you don't want spoilers. Because there are MEGA DD spoilers. I read I think most of them (and I convulsed in excitement the entire time) and they're really good. But we only have a week left to wait, so I don't really know that it's worth it.

I was talking to a friend on deviantART a day or so ago and she mentioned that someone she knew got an advanced copy of The Demigod Diaries. Well, I know that people can't keep their mouths shut and wouldn't you know it, some stuff leaked!
