Rick posted on his twitter account recently: "Yes, I will be reading a 1st sneak peek from Mark of Athena at those six events. The preview won't be posted online until this summer!"


I think he meant he was reading it at one of the Serpent's Shadow events. I WILL TRY MY HARDEST TO FIND IT!

Just found a photo of Alexandra Daddario... as a blond! Thank the gods... Lemme just say, I think this movie looks a lot more promising than the last. *Edit: Forgot to mention... I'm really not sure where I found this picture. Someone on deviantART sent me a link for the website. So, thanks, to whoever found it! *Edit 2: I just found a release date for the Sea of Monsters movie. Looks like it's slated for a little less than a year from now, March 27, 2013! Can't wait!

So, on a topic completely unrelated to the Rick Riordan fanverse, has anyone seen the Legend of Korra? You know, the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender? I'm counting down the seconds to the next episode. Haha. I'm that excited, seriously!

I think it's a really good show, but obviously the original is better.

Well, they have officially started filming! Someone sent me a link to pictures of the cast arriving in Vancouver to start work on the movie: SoM- Cast Arrives

It's the lead four! I can't wait to see that movie (scheduled for release some time late next year).

Sorry I'm a Little Late...

Ok, so we have a few major updates to discuss!

First off, Rick officially released the character art for Ra yesterday:

From Rick's blog: Our third character art reveal for The Serpent's Shadow: the ever-popular, slightly demented sun god Ra. Weasel cookies! Zebras! (if you read Throne of Fire, you get it.)

Will Ra return to his former glory in time to battle Apophis? The answer awaits when Serpent's Shadow is published on May 1!

Why so special?
He may look frail, but Ra is a powerful figure. And possibly the key to the Kanes' victory over Apophis. 

I think he looks like a really cute, really sweet old man!

But that's not all we need to talk about today...

Thanks to a tip from someone named Lynette, I discovered today that we have another star slated for the Sea of Monsters movie. Check out the article here: Hypable- Leven Rambin. Apparently she starred in the Hunger Games (I think she was Glimmer?)  Anyway, she's been cast as Clarisse! Personally, I think she looks a little nice and girly to play our daughter of Ares, but I guess we'll find out. This movie looks a lot more promising than the last and I'm just happy that they decided not to leave Clarisse out of this one. Also, there is a rumored actress for Thalia, but I think it's a little too early on to tell. However, her name is Paloma Kwiatkowski and as of right now, there is no available picture. I'll keep looking though!


*Edit: Scratch that, I just found her picture. She's adorable and I think she looks the part of Thalia EXACTLY:

Now try not to get your hopes up. She may not be a definite yet, but I really hope they stick with her!

Sorry...

So I've done some digging recently, mostly looking for more leaks about the Demigod Diaries, but I've come up empty.

HOWEVER, I think we can expect at least one more Serpent's Shadow preview before the release. Then at the end of May or beginning of June, we'll get some MoA info (i.e. cover and first chapter) then the Demigod Diaries comes out, MoA characters, etc.

How many times have I said that in previous posts? Heck, too many times to count. Sorry, there hasn't been much news and I'm really excited for MoA. =D

Meet... Setne!

Personally, I've never heard of this guy. Anyway, Rick says that he plays a ver important part in the Serpent's Shadow. Here's what he said on his blog:

Meet Setne: magician, ghost, thief, murderer, liar, traitor, and all-around nice guy. Would you trust this man with your life? Unfortunately, Carter and Sadie may have to if they want to defeat Apophis in THE SERPENT'S SHADOW. 


Sounds interesting! (Even though he looks like a creeper.) Here's what the Disney Hyperion site says about Mr. Setne: 


Residence:
Often unknown. But with his tricky reputation, this is not a guy you want to negotiate with.

The Seven Ribbons of Hathor, the only items keeping this guy in check!

Why so special?
Despite his past crimes, Setne still packs plenty of charm. That's what makes him so dangerous.

More Sea of Monsters News

So I checked out the page for the movie on IMDb and found out some interesting stuff! They added a few more members to the cast:

Hermes- Nathan Fillion
The Fates- Missi Pyle, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Mary Birdsong
Chiron- Anthony Head (changed from Pierce Brosnan)
Polyphemus- Robert Maillet
Tyson- Douglas Smith
(These are tentative, as far as I know.)

Then there's some confusion. C. Ernst Harth is on the cast list but not who he is playing. Then Christopher Redman is cast as Reardon?? Anyone know who that is?

Anyway, they're filming right now, or are about to go into film. And the release date is one year from now: March 26, 2013. I'll keep you updated!
